this was amazing - the way the author writes about culture, about colonization, and about the physical body is masterful. the imagery she creates in the poetry especially is unbelievable; i was so fascinated by the interview at the end where she describes her writing process and the dreams and visuals that come to her for each poem. i 100% understand why this is considered so essential.
