Did I love this collection of poetry? No, not really. But I greatly respect the vulnerability of sharing personal reflections on one’s life, and this was intimate insight into a public figure whose onscreen work I enjoy.

I wanted to love this because I love Misha, but there were precisely two poems that resonated with me at all, and the rest didn't really stir me. I wouldn't say it's objectively bad poetry, but it isn't for me.

It's really not my type of poetry, don't get me wrong: some of them are written well but most seem like diary entries which have been written cryptically for no reason other than to claim poetry status....

I read this book simply because I like poetry, and there is only a small selection to choose from at the library I work at. This was one of my options. I had no idea who Misha Collins was, had no idea he was an actor and have never been familiar with any of his work prior to this book. I'm glad, because I dove into this completely unbiased and I can honestly say that I loved this poems. They were relatable and full of emotion. I loved how simple and straightforward they were, weaving small narratives instead of a verse densely packed with metaphor. Honestly, I probably won't venture outside of Mr. Collin's poetry realm, but I think it's pretty cool that a well known actor (to everyone but me, apparently) is bringing poetry to the masses!
