Now, I feel like it's not my place to judge the QUALITY of the poems themselves as this is something that cannot be judged in my opinion, so I would much rather just talk about my feelings towards this book.

Well, based on the rating I think it is quite obvious that I loved it. I can't say I related to the poems per se, as Misha mostly talked about stuff I have yet to experience (maybe?), but somehow they made me feel...grounded? It's quite strange trying to describe it, to be completely honest.

They made me hope for something I didn't even know I might want in the future and in all honesty, I can see myself carrying this book around with me at any occasion just to sit down for a minute and revisit some of the poems again.

Poetry isn't really my cup of tea, but these poems seemed especially navel gazy and pretentious. It wasn't bad enough for me to DNF, but I came close.

2⭐ - it was meh

Couple of the poems were very nice, but overall, they mostly felt too surface level feelings, like something you've read a million times already. Also they were a bit too long to my taste. Few longer ones would be nice, but this was most of them, so it felt too heavy to read.
Nice words put together, nothing more....

I’m pretty surprised this book is so highly rated and wonder if that would be the case if the author wasn’t already famous. There are a few poems with some meaning behind them but most of them are like a journal in poem form. Rather dull.

I'm not a big fan of modern poetry but I absolutely adored this collection. I think it takes a lot of courage for someone to open up and write poems so personal and let the world read it. I love Misha Collins but this was way more than I ever expected from him. He has me not only as a fan of his acting career but also a big fan of his poetry.

A little heads up: You are going to cry with this book. More than all with the first chapter.

This is one of my favorites by the way:

The clouds out the small window
And the sound of rain running down the glass,
Along with the fire,
Could add up to autumn coziness,
But in this nest, there is no you,
So all I see is damp and dark today.

And also this:

Last night, my knuckles nudged the screen to the right,
And a picture popped up.
Us side by side in Bali with parrots on our shoulders.
I teared up and stupidly texted it to you.
I wrote, “I will always feel this way about you.
I will never not love you.”
Retyping that now, tears again.

When I was learning to act
And needed to cry for a scene,
I would often imagine the unbearable emptiness
Of a life without you.
