Mistletoe at Midnight by LB Gregg
I loved it. My only complaint is that I wish it would be longer; There were so many things happening! But the characters are great, the story sweet and the narration really good. The supporting characters were almost as interesting as the MD, so yes, I would have liked to spend more time with all of them.
Nine lights on Edinburgh by Harper Fox.
My favourite story, probably because McBride is such a complex and interesting character! Once again, I would like this story to be longer; I would have liked to know Toby better but, oh! Harper Fox has a great way to take a character to its lowest level, and make it shine! I just fell in love with the story. It is dark? Yes, maybe it is. But it is not a desperate reading, depressing, but hopeful.
Oh, and the reader was fantastic!
I heard him exclaim for Z.A. Maxfield
This is a cute story, sweet, and I liked it... more or less. But I keep thinking: Really? Can't leave your niece alone in the bathroom, but you are willing to put yourself and her in a stranger's car?
And the last talk, about feelings? It felt ... too long. Only my opinion * shrugs *
Icecapade by Josh Lanyon
Another one that I truly love. I love the premise (and yes, it actually reminds me of an old manga that I love: Eroica), I love Raffles-Noel, and I really, really love Robert. He went through so many things because of Noel's carelessness and yet, here he is, wondering, trying to understand, trying to find common ground ... and enjoying making Noel suffer a little :P
The narrator in this one is fantastic.
Highly recommended. =D

His for the Holidays is an anthology written by some of my favorite authors offering m/m romance for this holiday season. Grab a seat, sit down, relax and enjoy a treat from four authors who offer a taste of finding love in unexpected places. Now before you say, I’m not really the anthology type, I must tell you I was particularly impressed with the ability of these four authors to bring full characterization and plot to each short story. Ranging from the sweet and funny to the intense and passionate this anthology covers all the bases and was a joy to read.

A great anthology collection, where all the stories are worthy of the rating.
All give that great Christmas-y feeling, even the slightly grittier Nights in Edinburgh (my favourite of the bunch). whilst short story collections, they are all a bit longer than short and read much longer - enough plot/characterisation to satisfy.
I've had a while and reread the stories a couple of times already

*4.5 Stars*
A great Christmas anthology with 4 strong stories.
Mistletoe at Midnight By LB Gregg
A lovely holiday story about reconnecting with your first love. I really liked Owen and Caleb; Mum I had some issues with!
Nine Lights Over Edinburgh By Harper Fox
An unexpectedly dark story for a Christmas theme. A number of people, according to their reviews, had a problem with this one. I loved it! DI James McBride, a tough, gritty 'copper', is well balanced by Tobias Leitner, elite member of Israel's Mossad. I thought the dark themes of alcoholism, human trafficking, & kidnapping made the 'nine lights over Edinburgh' shine that much brighter!
I Heard Him Exclaim By Z.A. Maxfield
A more traditionally themed Christmas story about coming to terms with unforeseen changes and accepting a new image of who you are - Steve as a fit & slimmed down bear of a Santa and Chandler as 'parent' to his 5 year old niece.
Icecapade By Josh Lanyon
Can Josh Lanyon write a bad story? Don't think so! This is a little gem of a story pitting ex-cat burglar Noel Snow against FBI agent Robert Cuffe. (Can I just say here that I LOVE the names!) Just read it - it's bril!!!

Four well-written, different and heart-warming holiday stories from four of the top authors in the genre. Harper Fox's entry was darker than the rest, but solidly happy in its ending. Great characters are the order of the day here. The fact that there are even better stories out there by all these authors is a measure of how good these writers are, not a critique of this collection. (Do be aware that these stories are also available individually. I owned one already, but the collection was still well worth the purchase.)
