I grabbed this book based solely on the cover and title, and it was everything I hoped it would be and more. It's funny and touching, and one of those books that highlights the goodness of humanity while acknowledging the flaws of people and struggles they face. I loved the train gang. I listened on audiobook, and the narrator did a fantastic job.

I like that Clare Pooley’s novels come with an array of lovable characters. When I need a distraction with what is happening around me, I know I will find comfort in Pooley’s writing. There’s no pressure or nail biting emotions in her stories. This novel almost reminded me of a female version of The Authenticity Project. Another novel I was happy to read. Mild swearing. Mild sexual content.

As a former train-commuter, this book captures the experience of daily train riding so perfectly. I loved it! There are a few typos but the story is so great I still read it in 2 days.
