If you love Lord of Scoundrels, I’d definitely recommend reading this book!

Vere (who is one of Dani’s friends in LOS) has lost nearly all of his family members and is an unlikely heir to the dukedom. Lydia is a journalist & author who is trying to legalize sex work in London. Vere and Lydia keep running into each other and fall in love.

A few parts of this book haven’t aged well. There is some brief homophobia & also the g-word slur for a Romani person.

I really enjoyed the romance here, but I as definitely more interested in some of the background characters like Helena Martin!

The absolute surprise delight of this book was the secondary romance with Bertie Trent?! Omg i loved that. And everything with Bertie and Tamsin and Susan (the dog). So fun.
