Love, love, love, love, love. Definitely a collection read and re-read and the leaves pass through seasons and as the seas shift sides and wash away, leaving behind these remnants of poetry.

I don't read a lot of poetry but this blew me away. I prefer his poems about the more mundane aspects of life versus the abstract and ethereal, as the former seem to be funny AND poetic, but you really can't miss with any of these. They feel truly lived-in, unlike the staid feeling that some poetry gives off.

Mayakovsky is a masterpiece.

Now I am quietly waiting for
the catastrophe of my personality
to seem beautiful again,
and interesting, and modern.

Good while reading it but not outstandingly memorable. Probably better for a book club/class/something where you plan on discussing it rather than just reading it for fun.
