Really good, classic-style Doctor Who. I'd say it's even slightly better than the original Silurian story

I love the Silurians, I love Evelyn, I love Sixie, and I quite like that Darwin fellow...so I expected to enjoy this story more than I eventually did.
Seems that writing a brilliant Silurian story is quite hard. Bloodtide is mostly solid, definitely not a bad story. I just wanted it to be so much better...

Glorious, glorious: Sixth Doctor and Evelyn meet up with Charles Darwin and Captain Fitzroy on the Galapagos Islands, and - how utterly appropriate - meet up with the Silurians. No doubt the play's account of Darwin's inner dialogue with himself, as brilliantly portrayed by Miles Richardson, would fail to pass muster with real experts but you don't expect utter historical accuracy in something like this. Evelyn and Six continue to be a great pairing, and the Silurians with their inner conflicts and betrayals make a great story. Loved it.

The Sixth Doctor and Evelyn on Galapagos Island with Charles Darwin, mixed up with the Silurians. Fun, if a bit predictable.

Most of the historicals that they've put the Sixth Doctor and Evelyn in have been pretty terrific. This one stumbles some and it's hard to wonder if Big Finish weren't scrambling a bit from "Storm Warning" to this point with how haphazardly they are put together.
Almost n a row we've had the returns of the Cybermen, the Brigadier, The Master and now the Silurians... and it just doesn't have a lot of impact.
