Hellstar Remina

Very much a case of style over substance, but God, there's no shortage of style. The plot, which was a bit rushed and predictable and ended on a bathetic note, played second fiddle to Junji Ito flexing his artistic muscle.

Nice art. Nonsensical plot.

3.5 stars
Not my favourite from Junji Ito, but still found some enjoyment in the scary panels of Remina and how insanely insane humanity can go on one girl bc of... her name??? My only criticism (which could kinda be applied to all the author's work) is that i wish for a little tiny more development and answers to why the planet exists and whatnot. I get that the unknown is scary, but it feels lazy in writing.

Another great Junji Ito book!

a literal nightmare, thanks junji ito!

3.5. Ito loves a juicy and textured tongue, a tentacle, an ingenue, a creepy man, multiple creepy men, the dark, the absurd, the horrible, the glimmering, the massive, the generative, and the destructive.

read on Libby.
