Due to the fast pace, this book can certainly break you out of a reading slump. The story is emotional and you do buy-in to some of the characters. Personally, I felt it lacked character development and the story was incredulous at times. Honestly, it felt like an episode of Grey's Anatomy. Others arouns me tend to like the book a little more than me, but some have the same concerns that I did.

Overall, it's worth a quick read. I finished it in one day.

I am honestly struggling to find the right words to express what it was like to read Orbiting Jupiter. While dealing with sensitive topics including abuse, mental health, foster care, teen pregnancy and poverty, this book tells a beautifully raw and compelling story from the perspective of a 12-year-old. There was so much in less than 100 pages, and yet it did not feel rushed or busy. It just felt real and moved me in so many ways.

This was an amazing book. It was told in the perfect way in the character development was great too.
The ending though? I did NOT see that coming. I knew it was supposed to be a sad book, but it still took me a surprise.<spoiler/> The ending was nicely bittersweet too. It was a great story about second chances. And as the book only has nine chapters, I think the author did that on purpose, just to show that life never always finishes where it’s expected to.
