Mending Noel by Charlie Cochet

Charlie Cochet is amazing at world building and North Pole City is a perfect Christmas town but it's quite a different take on the world of the elves. There's a full on city vibe with the different places that the elves work but there's still prejudice and deception going on within the ranks.
Tim has been attracted to Noel for so long but Noel has been mean to him which adds to his feelings of not fitting in and being unfulfilled in life right now. Unknown to Tim, Noel also has these feelings but no way to express them. The two stumble across a plot to hurt Jack Frost and end up spending a time together whilst helping to apprehend the suspects.
It's a short and sweet romance, extra sweet with the amount of talk of candy and hot chocolate! It's kind of an enemies to lovers story with a good plot added in. I really enjoyed reading it and as with all of Charlie's stories, there's fun to be had with some great characters and a good story line. Looking forward to reading the next in the series.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

fast-paced
Probably a 2,75/5 but I decided not to rate it because it was WAY TOO SHORT for me. There were some good elements and interesting ideas though. I would have liked it better (and actually would have rated it) if it was longer -even novella size.

Magical holiday adventure.

Charlie Cochet really knows how to write an original story. In this first book of the North Pole City Tales series we’re introduced to elves Tim and Noel. Tim is adorable whilst Noel lets his insecurities turn him into a grumpy elf. Being in the wrong place at the wrong time leads them to some intriguing side characters.
The world building is fabulous and some of the curse words made me giggle.
This is a sweet, fun, witty holiday novella that’s ideal for a quick seasonal read.

I liked the different take on the North Pole and it's inhabitants but struggled to get a handle on either Noel or Tim. I didn't feel the vibes (except anger) between the two and definitely am still only lukewarm towards Noel. But overall I liked the story. I will read the rest of the series and hope to catch up with these two and perhaps get a different view of their relationship

I enjoyed the “world” more than I enjoyed Noel and Tim. Crochet did a fantastic job building such a fun world, and I am interested in reading the next book.

Tim and Noel on the other hand... well it happened too fast for the intense dislike Noel felt for Tim at the beginning.
But in a magical world, anything can happen, I guess.
