Still consistently solid. I'm committed at this point and have the last two books on hand.

Nothing terribly noteworthy about this particular volume except that it's probably the funniest one thus far.

Probably dullest of the series yet. Back story of Arseface is a fun one but the other origin story of Starrs is a bit boring. Interesting love triangle continues to grow between the two origin stories, and the collection finishes with a relatively clumsy bit typically gory and brutal Ennis special hillbilly rerun. Sometimes I wonder what the limit is for how many things Ennis can have hicks fuck but so far it seems to be infinity.

Books 3 & 4 of the delightfully blasphemous comic book series, which spawned the innovative TV show. We’re on a literal search for God—who’s fled Heaven & left humankind to fend for ourselves—with the not-so-holy Rev. Jesse Custer, his gun-toting girlfriend Tulip & their vampire pal Cassidy. Warning: It’s not for your kids. (The beheadings, cannibalism & sodomy should be a tip off.) Believe it or not, there’s a lean-on-me friendship holding the mayhem together & an existential nihilism that Sartre might dig. The gang’s out to show the Lord who’s boss.

Preacher is so fun. Aside from the last story, it felt pretty tame with content.
Book four is a good set up with the love triangle and Jesse's disappearance.
We also get the origin of "Arseface" and a story about TC and Jody.
Tons of fun with Herr Starr's misadventures.

One of the most important parts in the story. I had almost forgotten about how captivating Starr and Arseface's backstories were, and how much the former feels like the focus of the story in this section. Only two to go, and I feel like it's only gotten better during this revisit.

Still amazing, even though I liked it a little less than book 3. Arseface's backstory was all right but felt a little bit like a stretch because we already knew what happened to him.

Looking forward to reading the rest!
