Volume 1 of The Weatherman introduces a bright, colorful, energetic tale of sci-fi mayhem that also tackles social themes of revenge, mob mentality, and mass media. With dynamic storytelling and strong art, LeHeup's writing can stray into uncomfortable territory--sometimes effectively, sometimes less-so.
With humor (often dark), violence (often somewhat gruesome), and a core story and characters that carry the narrative at a rapid pace through a range of territories--The Weatherman commits to its vision of storytelling from page 1. Highs and lows, its elements fit together well, creating a bold and memorable reading experience from start to finish.

Very satisfying read. Just wacky/edgy enough to not feel like it's trying too hard to be wacky/edgy. The art and layout are well suited to the writing with just a hint of Steadman at appropriate times. Story felt timely and familiar but without being overly influenced by previous writers.
Disappointed that there is a Volume II though this does have a legitimate ending. If you like Transmetropolitan, Saga or Shirtless Beat Fighter (of course) you may enjoy this series.

Weatherman starts strong by brutally murdering our main character's dog. I docked major points for this as I don't see the point of killing the dog. But still a good time.

Caught my eye from the shelf due to the bright colors. It's a really fun read. Nice combination of action, pathos, and humor. I will continue the series.

Taking the rare step of leaving a negative review. But I really feel that the ultra-violence undercuts the themes of grief and loss. I should have known by the first issue from what they do to the dog, but I wanted to give it a chance, and they kept doubling down on it. The performance aspect of killing for catharsis by the fifth issue is such a characiture that I couldn't take the other themes seriously, and they do seem to want to explore other themes. I would have dismissed it as just not to my taste, but the loss of potential makes me want to leave this review.

I dislike gore so honestly picking this up was a mistake but I committed to it thinking it was a 1 and done so now I’m interested but also reluctant to start volume 2 especially if that’s not the last volume.
The designs are great.
The 3 stars wasn’t for the gore that was on me for not finding a more descriptive content warning.

Great art, great action-packed story, loved Nathan's sparkling personality, as well as the other characters'. It was indeed a tad bit too quick for me, but still, looking forward for Vol. 2!
