Another cute one! I loved the concept behind this and the little notes they left for each other. It was great that there was depth and growth in such a short story which made it that much nicer. Loved it!

I really wanted to like this book. The premise sounded fun—quirky rom-com vibes, a lovable disaster of a wingman, some laughs, maybe even a slow-burn romance. But honestly? It just didn’t land for me.

Right from the start, the pacing felt off. The characters were more caricatures than actual people, and while I understand it was meant to be lighthearted, the humor felt forced and over the top. The “wingman” trope had potential, but instead, it came across as frustrating and borderline cringey. Every time the main character had a chance to be charming or redeemable, he doubled down on being immature or just plain irritating.

And to top it off, I didn’t even realize it was only 60 pages long when I bought it on Kindle. I genuinely thought something had gone wrong with the download. Super disappointing.

This felt more like a rough draft or a novella teaser than a fully fleshed-out rom-com. Just not for me.

Amazing but also so heart wrenching. Holly's job is definitely not one I could ever do. Super cute ships in the night love story

I thought this was cute. This was my first taste of Abby Jimenez. I liked the dual POV and I listened with the audio so I enjoyed having both narrations. But I will admit, I find dual POV hard because sometimes the men just sound like men written by women. And maybe I’m a little picky here, but there were a few instances where in his POV I was like hmm idk that I believe a man would think that.

Overall it was cute. I liked the way they became sort of star crossed and their meet-cute story was sweet, one they’ll tell their grandkids one day.

💖 no spice, some innuendos
