Once again as with Blindsight (just without the egregious ableism of that one) a book where the premise could have done very well as an imaginative essay but I'm not sure it required a narrative.

HOOOOOOOOOOOLYYYYYY SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

I felt that this novel fell short of it's potential. While the general premise was intriguing, the sci-fi aspect of its plot very quickly became farfetched, mulch more farfetched than I generally prefer my sci-fi. It's a genre that you go into fully willing to suspend your disbelief, but in some cases, such as with this novel, the plot isn't structurally sound enough to support that suspension of disbelief.
Another aspect of the novel that left me wanting was the characters. While we were introduced to several individuals, all from various backgrounds, they all felt almost shallow, in the sense that there was no connection with them. A couple of the characters seemed like they were only there to fill pages and did not actually feel as if they contributed to the storyline.

This is the way the world ends: not with a bang but with a quantum mechanic WTF.

A mad scientist creates self aware single cell organisms capable of converting all organic matter into themselves and THEN shit gets crazy
