I enjoy the premise and would in theory like this more, but there's something about the execution and the result is I don't care about the characters very much.

I've been very excited to try this series and I do hear great things, this is just a slow start.
I'm sure things will ramp up once you meet Sherlock and the rivalry becomes part of the story. In this volume we just hear the backstory of why Moriarty is the way he is/why he has the goals he has. And then they solve 2 minor cases and justice is served. But it just wasn't that interesting. And I don't care about the characters yet, so it may take some time.
I will continue the series though.

I was aware of the anime first but never got around to watching it, so now I'm reading it instead! Frankly, I'm not that well-versed on Sherlock Holmes and mostly only know the canon through pop culture osmosis, but this take on Moriarty is pretty interesting. I'm looking forward to reading the next few volumes to see how this series shapes up.

dark
damn ok so the genre is "8D chess type beat" but this shit dark as hell!! cast of pretty boys i had no idea how violent we was finna get but they jumped in headfirst fr. was actually a bit taken aback
at the murder of the actual William Moriarty and his mother and everyone else in the house by arson like that shit was cold af

Something about Moran having cool spiky manga hair in 1879 makes me cackle idk meanwhile Moriarty unironically slays with that cut i am looking respectfully. The art in general is TOP TIER I love the shading

Communist Moriarty is such a fun way to tell this story. Very satisfying
