“How much junk food did you have today?” His smile was a little sheepish. “I needed comfort, and you weren’t here.”

How heartwarming~
I loved them!

This is the most small-town, heartwarming story I’ve read in forever. This story is exactly what you’d expect to happen in a mid-American small town. I appreciate the author’s ability to bring out the personalities in the characters. I really like how the main character’s hearts are so on the line and how both are such caring people. I appreciate the relationship between the main characters and secondary characters. I would love to have Calista for a bff. I enjoyed how Dawson, who easily could have been stereotyped is so much more than a jock. The author did a great job of letting me know who Dawson is. Also, the way he is portrayed as more of a take care of type guy is heartwarming. I loved how he decided to tutor Evan after the incident with Linc. I really enjoyed Evan. He is described as a nerd. A very smart nerd with a big heart. His involvement with his grandfather, his friends, the school club he is involved in and his relatives make him such a giving guy. The way Evan is brokenhearted yet still wants the best for Dawson made him a much nicer person than I could have been. I can’t wait for the next story in this series

Such a great story.

It was fun, kind, and not too heavy, but with great character development. Evan is awkward and an introverted tech geek, which leads to an amusing meet-cute with Dawson, his BFFs very hot straight cousin.

Dawson has moved to town, looking for a fresh start after a tragic accident left his life in disarray. His football career dreams are lost bought he has a chance to find a new passion as Assistant Coach at the local high school.

As these two end up forging a friendship, with Dawson trying to teach him the art of Flirting, Dawson starts to realize he may not want Evan to get any real-life experience at it.

”I don’t want to be your warm-up for the love of your life. I want to be the one.”

I love a bi/pan awakening. There's something really lovely about someone coming into their feelings. Their flirting is a lot of fun, and it was great the way each of them helped the other find the courage to really embrace the life and dreams they longed for.

A bit on the long side, but I moved along pretty well and had enough going on to keep it moving. Already looking forward to the next one.
