Emma in the night is a psychological thriller about how toxic narcissistic behavior can be by Wendy Walker.
Cass and Emma , sisters , two years apart disappear one night and after a thorough search they are believed to be dead. But after three years Cass who is now eighteen years old returns to her mom and step-dad’s house with a far-fetched story about being held captive on an island in Maine by a childless couple. The FBI investigator Dr. Abby Winters and Agent Leo Strauss the investigators on the case before come back to interview Cass and to find Emma and her two-year-old daughter that are still being held captive by the couple. Thus, begins the race against time to find Emma and truth about what happened that fateful night three years ago.
I really enjoyed this book and was turning the pages to find out what was going to happen next. Cass’s story is revealed in seven days and the suspense leads up to the satisfying climatic end. I would definitely recommend this novel to all suspense lovers and will definitely be looking for more books by Wendy Walker.

I wasn't sure what to expect with this book. I've been seeing it float around and I was intrigued by the cover and snagged the chance to get it when the audiobook was available. It didn't disappoint.
It's not the most suspenseful book but it does make you question everyone. I wasn't sure if to believe Cass' return story or not but I think that's what the author may have wanted. I was rooting for her to find Emma but questioned what role Cass played in her disappearance.
The audiobook was really good.

This is about two sisters who go missing and like two years later only one of them returns with a story she is trying to convince everyone of so that they can find her sister. I read this a few months ago and REALLY enjoyed it! I believe it's told in two different storylines, past and present and you are slowly piecing everything together along the way.
I originally gave it five stars because it was just such an engaging read, but I am knocking it down a bit since I had forgotten a lot of it and had to give myself a bit of a refresher and after I remembered I didn't have that "OH, I loved that book" Reaction that I usually do with five star books.
I think this was an interesting mystery and I would recommend it.

ooooo i am definitely on a mystery kick. the intrigue. the twists n turns. i did not see the ending coming and dang am i happy that my mom is not a narcissist.
