This is, I think, the first book of non-location-specific poetry I've ever read. I picked it up randomly on a gift card and absolutely loved it. Göknar does a wonderful job of tying place and family and future together, and the references to Turkestan, Turkey and the Midwest are pretty tailor-made for me.

I didn't realize until after buying it that Göknar translated My Name is Red, which I loved. He's truly gifted, and I'm fortunate to have read his words.
