Loved it, but I was not prepared for the sad ending.

Would have rated it higher because it was actually a good book. But I was not prepared for how freakin sad it was going to be. I wanted holiday love story and got sadness instead.

This book has Me Before You and Love, Rosie vibes. Honestly, this book broke my heart and stitched it back together so many times. I don’t know what I expected when I read this book, but it was not what I got, but it was better than I imagined.

I was extremely upset by the last 20% of the book… Max just died?!? He dropped dead in the hospital? And the nurses didn’t look for who he came with? Bizarre for him to die like that and also to process his love that they should have spent their lives together. Doesn’t that feel a bit much considering they only knew each other for a year and probably spent a total of 10 days together in total?

Well…talk about sobbing at the end. I honestly kept having to put the book down for the last 20 pages or so because I literally couldn’t see because of the crying. It’s inevitable you will cry reading this book so just have a box of tissues next to you.

BRB while I go read something overly cheesy and happy to help my heart from tearing anymore.

I’m not well.

I sensed the direction this book was going from the very beginning, but I really hoped for a different ending. Ideal read for fans of Me Before You by Jojo Moyes, though I didn’t think it deserved 5 stars like I gave Jojo’s book.
