A group of children/teens forced vacationing with their alcoholic negligent parents at an estate--Destroyed in a storm, the kids leave to take care of themselves. The Childrens bible is in reference to Eve's (main character) brother's "book" he's reading with stories of apocolypse and the Ark.

I didn’t dislike this book, but its scattershot approach made it hard to empathize or relate to the characters.

ETA: After reading other reviews, I realize that the reason why it was all over the place to me is that I’ve never read the Bible in it’s entirety so I missed the references.

A Children's Bible is about a group of kids vacationing with their parents in the northeast. The parents spend their time getting intoxicated while the kids gamify, disassociating themselves from their families. This disgust and embarrassment come to a crescendo as a ravenous storm comes through the east coast and leaves home isolated and left to its own devices.

ACB is an interesting premise that brings some new elements to the literary table, so to speak; however, I never was engaged as I would hope. Decent book and might require a re-read before making a final decision.
