I overall enjoyed the book but I started to lose interest in the second half. I thought things were kinda happening randomly and some things were just weird. I understand why things were happening, just did not feel it was happening as smoothly as the first half of the book.Overall good!

Raw and depressing. I can’t stress enough how badly this book made me want to drink an entire bottle of wine in one sitting. Hats off to Millet for her honest, driving portrayal of climate change told through a child’s lens.
Overall, it was a compelling story which kept me interested, but felt a little too real.

So much happens in such a little time that I wish I had a timeline to have an understanding, but I feel that that is what made this book as morbidly effective. This is one of the most effective apocalyptic novels I’ve read in a long time. Even more so considering the state of the world and the pandemic.

There's so many layers to unpack in this one and I'm still mulling it all over. Call it personal bias, but I am undeniably drawn to the crucifixion of the biologist.
