This a good introductory read to get someone started thinking about AI. I don't agree with many of the author's views, and I think the book lacks some depth, but interacting with the text did spur a lot of independent thought and reflection for me. So, it serves its purpose in that way as an overview and a launchpad for further reading and conversation.

In November of 2022, Open AI released ChatGPT, a consumer AI product. If hit mainstream with a bang,
Mollick discusses the philosophical, social, and economic implications of integrating AI into society and culture.
⁉️Have you tried ChatGPT? What interactions have you known you had with AI?
For reference, I work in healthcare information technology and AI tends to come up in my conversations almost daily. From using Microsoft’s Copilot to take meeting notes, to implementing larger scale AI tools as chat bots, response technology, and summarizing data to help our providers take care of our patients. This book is easy to understand and exceptionally accessible. It outlines guidelines for how to implement AI in your workplace, the benefits and pitfalls. It discusses potential implications on jobs and what the future might look like. It provides a glimpse into what the future of AI might look like. I recommend this book, especially for those that might be in roles or have employers that are embracing it to provide some great insight.

A solid primer that avoids the usual hyperbole.
The effects of the roided-up autocomplete machines will only really be able to be assessed after the fact, but this short book is about as reasonable guess as I’ve encountered
