I was given this book by a guest at my hotel and I trust her judgement entirely. We’d had good long chats during her stay about reading and how much I missed paperback books.

This was a good book to just delve into, some easy reading.

It’s your classic thriller that has you doubting everyone in play. The twist is great and it has you on the edge of your seat waiting to find out whats happening next.

After reading some intense book, it was nice to just get carried away with a good thriller.

No. No no. I don't even know how I found this, but I thought it would be a fun but trashy thriller. It actually made my brain sad.

Stupid names? Check.
Weird incest? Check.
Unbelievable and ridiculous "twist"? Check.

I would have liked this book when I was 12. I am not 12.

I listened to this on audio and found myself wanting to keep driving just so I could keep listening. Kept me on the edge of my seat.

Very far fetched plot line but despite this I loved it! Occasionally a little drawn out butitI had me hooked throughout and not until very close to the end did I start to guess the "twist". Very enjoyable.

This story of Geniver and the mystery surrounding the death of her baby 8 years before was impossible to put down. It was difficult tell if she was losing her mind or if someone close to her was deceiving her. The comparisons to Gone Girl and Before I go to Sleep are spot on.

I received the CD version of this book as a good reads giveaway. Thankfully, I had not read that it was being compared to Gone Girl because I disliked that book so intensely that I probably would not have bothered to listen to Close My Eyes if I had known. I am very pleased to say that it is NOTHING like Gone Girl and I really enjoyed this story. While I was pretty sure I knew who was to blame fairly early on, this book kept me second guessing myself all the way to the end and I love it when that happens. I can understand why some people think Gen is too emotional and weak and whatever else those who didn't like her felt, but every person deals with grief differently and I actually found her to be very believable and felt she gained strength and asked for help when it was appropriate. I definitely sympathized with her character. I found myself sitting in my car listening for many minutes after arriving at my destination on several occasions and that is the best endorsement I can give to a book on CD!

Picked up after the first 1/3 but a slow starter definitely.

Fantastic book. It sucked me right into its pages and I could barely put it down. It was fast paced and had me guessing at every turn. Loved it!
