Okay that is generous for sure. This story was addictive you wanted to know more of what was going to happen, but the main thing that is making me rate this story lower than I would is that the main characters are all 15............ umm no.

These characters are drinking to oblivion, doing copious amounts of drugs, fighting/talking of killing people, manipulating staff at school, and that isn't even half of it... These children should be at least 18 and let me tell you that is how old I am imagining them so the story isn't fully ruined for me.

I am not saying that this is some quality reading right here, this is like a guilty pleasure book. Think of it like watching your favorite high drama reality tv show (Real Housewives or Keeping up with the Kardashians), you know it isn't stimulating, but man oh man it's addictive.

I honestly wish these kids were older that would make it more enjoyable for me because there is no way at 15 kids would do half of this stuff.... although I could be wrong. I am just picturing all of this playing out in their senior year because I just can't haha.

I am going to continue the series because I can't seem to stop reading these very entertaining trashy books, so don't judge me! haha

I would recommend this book to anyone looking for an entertaining read that will get you no mental stimulation, but you want to read about some high school drama.

Lips tries to escape her life by getting accepted at Hannaford Prep Academy, but as the scholarship student, she's the target for bullying. She lets her classmates and the guys she like bullying her, because she can't let them know that she's the Wolf, one of the master criminal in the Mounts Bay area, because if she wanted, she could easily kill any single one of them.

It's a dark book with so much angst, and it was the first book I enjoyed after numerous DNFs.

  • okay so first, i like how the FMC was pretty badass - there were moments when she messed up by not being careful and letting herself get drugged (you are a notorious gang-girly or some shit like that, you need to be on your guard 24/7!!) but she stood up for what she believes in while still keeping her level of bad-bitchery a secret to take them by surprise when needed
  • each of the guys has a pretty distinct personality, except Blaise’s felt fairly inconsistent and matched whatever the author needed for the time, going from warm and friendly to arrogant and cocky to quiet and brooding - i got whiplash damn
  • and the whole MMCs covering up the evil brother’s actions made no sense to me, i couldn’t figure out why they didn’t expose him
  • i also hated the flip in treating the FMC like garbage at the end when it finally felt like she had proven herself to be on their side, like there needs to be SERIOUS groveling or ELSE
  • there were gang politics i didn’t fully get but the whole story wasn’t entirely immersed in that which i appreciated
  • the MMC’s sister-relative-whatever Avery was such a bitch though for no good reason and like okay she apologized and became a friend at the end but i feel like the FMC accepted her apology WAY too quickly
  • and the FMC saved the other guy Harley from evil-gang-man or some shit so he like owed her his life but he ALSO tried to chase her out of the school at the end, with no gratitude at all for how she saved his life?? as i said before, the next book BETTER HAVE GROVELING.
  • the worst part of this book by far (other than some of the MMC’s complete disregard for the sexual, physical, and emotional abuse happening to the FMC that they could have intervened in) was the fact that even though she had the beautiful name Eclipse, this bitch went by LIPS. HER NAME IS LIPS. thank god they just called her Mounty (her old school’s nickname) most of the time (which is also an awful name) because the few times Lips was used i wanted to shoot myself
  • okay also we are completely ignoring the given ages in this because it is a) unrealistic-er than it already is and b) fucking creepy and weird as hell no thanks so they are in college like some other reviews have expressed thx lol

this book… pheww. the amount of drama that is in it and how much it gave me a whiplash is crazy. one thing that absolutely irked me is that this is set in a high school setting… meaning the characters that we are following are in the age range of being 15-19, mostly 15 because the main character is a high school freshman. because of that, the amount of drugs and sex that is mentioned and basically encouraged disgusted since they are still minors. especially when Lips is a gangster at the age of fifteen… (badass but lets be real here..) i know its fiction but the book (in my opinion) would have been better if it was placed in a college age setting.

we know that saying “eat the rich” yeah bish i completely agree with that statement✋

I really enjoyed this book once I mentally changed the characters ages to college. They young ages just don’t make sense for some of the things they’ve claimed to have done.
