5⭐️: "i live laugh love you." will forever be my favorite quote
Fine. I'm late to the Isaiah game. I would give this book 6 stars if I could - just because I didn't believe in book boyfriends ...until Isaiah.
So let's talk about Isaiah. He is perfection wrapped in an MMC. Just cocky and confident enough to keep it humorous and attractive, mixed with a good dose of vulnerability and trauma to make him real & human. Devoted, almost to a fault. Sometimes the pandering to Kennedy felt a bit like groveling but the reverse dynamic of having the MMC being SO wrapped around the FMC's little finger - to the point where he was losing himself - was interesting.
The banter was top top notch. I could've survived on the banter alone & that says a lot because good books depend on a lot of different variables coming together, to make it work. I loved the MCs as individuals and as a couple.
Love, love, LOVE the supporting cast - especially Kai & Miller. I mean, the contrast of Kai & Isaiah's relationship with each other & their found family was a warm blanket compared to Kennedy's icy tundra of a family.
It's a pretty darn fantastic book, close to perfection. Don't be a goose - like I was - and wait on this one.
