So the librarian again suggested this book...hmmm, I'm sensing a pattern here. It was ok. I vaguely felt like I had either read it before or seen a Lifetime movie based on it. As far as romance novels go, again, it was ok.

This book was quite a surprise. It was a new genre for me. I’m calling it Cowboy Romance Thrasher Thriller Mystery.  Somehow, in the skilled hands of Nora Roberts, it all worked.  It was a compelling mystery, and had me guessing right up until the end, but it was a bit too gruesome for me. Be sure to read the trigger warnings!

Willa Mercy didn't grow up with her two half sisters but now they're all together for their father's funeral. She's the only one who grew up on the ranch so she's astonished to learn that the ranch has been left to all of them equally as long as they all stay for a year. None of them are excited about that thought.
Tess is a Hollywood screenwriter so she is, of course, not excited to stay. But the family lawyer, Nate Torrence, a long drink of water, is making her rethink that stance.
Third sister, Lily, is glad to be at the ranch for the year as she is running from her abusive ex-husband. She's finding herself falling in love with Willa's (maternal) half brother, Adam.
I did read this book when it came out but think it held up fairly well.

Montana Sky is ranch life, family dynamics, 3 romances, and murder. Jack Mercy was a terrible human being but a good rancher. He left his ranch to his 3 daughters but they had to live together for a year. 2 of his daughters were estranged with him when he died. This story shows the family bonding and romances that blossom within that year. It was a good book.

TW: racism, murder, misogyny, domestic violence, and animal death.

One of the first Nora Roberts novels that I came across, and it was great. Recommend it to fans of romantic suspense and family dramas. Be sure to check out the movie adaption.

Only read this because the Lifetime movie stars John Corbett aka Aiden. Book is so much better, however. I know, shocking.

This reminded me a lot of Black Hills, which I read recently. I didn't really care for Lily's character - she was too syrupy sweet for me. There was a decent twist about 3/4's the way through. And I hate the fact that all the sisters ended up married/getting married to these Montana ranchers. Really? Too much of a stretch for me.
