The first 1/3 of this is rather boring as it follows mole around, who is not an interesting character for a protagonist. He would be a great friend however. Then the story moves on to the self-centered toad, and the book really picks up. From there on out it is pretty interesting as toad goes from one adventure to another, each made of his own mistakes.
