This was a very good children's book. It's charming, funny, and I can see lessons that children can gain from this. Lessons such as: Accountability, forgiveness, the importance of friendship, the dangers of addiction, and more.

As an adult, it's just good to me, but I imagine if I was a child, I would've enjoyed it a lot more.

I would be very surprised if it turned out that Brian Jacques didn't draw a lot of inspiration from this novel. There are more than a few significant similarities. There are many of the same elements in here that exist in his Redwall series.

A joyful, relaxing time in the willows

What a positively fantastic book. Revisiting after reading as a child, and it still brings all the joy and mirth it did in my childhood. Jonathan read this aloud, which was likewise an absolute pleasure—this is a book written to be read aloud, no doubt. 5/5, and required reading!

read this with the most beautiful illustrations it’s such a sweet and lovely book i wish i could live in the willows

I found this so charming! I usually have to kind of struggle through older fiction, but this book just hit quite right with the dialogue and prose... old timey, but not TOO old timey, right??

I'd certainly recommend this to former lover's of Watership Down, it's not the same thing at all but it evokes the same love of woodland animals.

One of my fav comfort books❤️
