mrs. dalloway is undeniably beautiful; the prose and many of the characters are delightful! however, i felt i got a little bit bored every so often. i don’t know why this book struggled to hold my attention!! even the last section (on the party itself) i found most enjoyable, but i still found lulls

A story that takes place in the span of one day, but left me feeling like I had known these characters their whole lives. Woolf has an incredible way of writing by jumping between consciousness and filling in details to truly embody each character. 

It took me a while to get used to the jumps between characters, which was distracting at first, until I could get in the flow of her writing. Once I was in the flow of a character, the writing was true magic!
