Taking place over a single day: Clarissa buys some flowers and thinks a lot; Septimus (yes that is really his name) goes through it; Rezia also goes through it; Peter is a bad boy love interest; and Richard thinks very hard about loving his wife. An interesting novel examining the inherent interconnectedness of living in the same city, and the parallels of your life and that of a complete stranger. My first Woolf and I hope for more!
Graphic: Suicide
This has to be what being a mindreader feels like: very interesting but also very unpleasant?
Beautifully written, but just not my style, found it really difficult and confusing to read with all the streams of consciousness, the interjections and distractions, and lack of real dialogue cues.

Listened to the audiobook beautifully narrated with a compelling urgency by Juliet Stevenson.
Great writing. Reflective, satirical and existential. A bit dated now, but I can see why it was ground breaking at the time. It makes me wish Woolf was still alive and writing about the present day for us.

Mrs Dalloway by Virginia Woolf
⭐️⭐️ (2*)
I guess this is rather a defeat than anything else. This wasn‘t a book for me at all.
