GREAT!!! There were some wonderful short stories in here including one that begins to tell me how The Graveyard Book began or was inspired!
Disappointment.
DNFed at 50%. I couldn't continue as nothing made me want to - not a spark, not a vibe... I will continue to my October TBR as I'm sure I'll find better readings for the spooky season. This was such a disappointment as it was my first Neil Gaiman and it definitely didn't suit what I expected of short stories (especially said for kids, that wasn't for kids at all haha also, kids would get bored even faster). I'm willing to give him another shot with Norse Mythology... but not in a looooong while.

This had a weird amount of used condoms and troll penises in it for a children's book.
He said i might like some stories but not others. And he was right. Some felt like sketches. Notes that could later be developed into something or maybe not. Entertaining nonetheless.
"Short stories are tiny windows into other worlds and other minds and other dreams..
... you don't have to like them all. If there's one you don't enjoy, well, there will be another along soon."
- Neil Gaiman
Well, I couldn’t agree more.
It’s really hard not to fall in love with Neil Gaiman’s writing, let alone his genius imagination, but I have to admit that not all of these stories really hit the mark for me.
Nevertheless, I found myself wishing some of them had been a whole book:
Troll Bridge, October in the Chair, Chivalry and How to Talk to Girls at Parties.
Not to mention The Witch’s Headstone, although it’s a shame that I had read ‘The Graveyard Book’ already, so I was familiar with the whole thing.
Still would recommend it though.

I loved so many stories in this book. "The Price", "Instructions", "The Witch's Headstone", and "October in the Chair" now rest among my favorites. Gaiman never fails to enchant and inspire.
این کتاب با این که یک سری داستان های گیمن بود ولی واقعا خوب بود . به خصوص داستان های مرغ خورشید یا داستان ترول . البته داستان های ضعیف تر هم داشت ولی در کل خوب بود .
Neil Gaiman is a wonderful writer and at last I read this anthology that had been given to me almost three years ago.
Gaiman is a master story-teller and a couple of this stories are printed on my mind.
October in the chair is a tale where the twelve months are sitting on by a fire and telling stories. They each acts as we know the months "act" if you get my meaning.
Chivalry in which the a paralel world a tea-lady (Mrs. Whittaker) have the holy grail and Galahad want's it. WHAT A STORY. A Must have I must say. To anyone!
The Price is another good horror tale. This was one of the best tales around. Even so because it has a cat. A short-story but Gaiman can really make you worry about the cat.
The Witch's Headstone is the prequel of The Graveyard Book . What a great story. Now I want to read it.
The other stories are okay but easily forgotten.
