I did not read this for the Energy Paradox diet. I was just curious as to what he had to say about metabolism. Definitely some interesting proposals, that offer excellent starting points for additional research.

I didn’t finish this one. I wasn’t a big fan of the the style.

If you have a leaky gut and low to no energy, this is a great book. Don’t be put off by the restrictions he gives as you can go slow, pick and choose what you are comfortable with and gradually work on the ones that seem more daunting. Baby steps are best for some and giant leaps for others.
I love that he gives you some step-by-step directions as well as an example menu plan (best for seafood lovers, which is not me). It is a great place to start then tweak it to your tastes. Well written with experience to back it up.

I really liked the science behind this book and I’m starting the lifestyle and diet changes, but the recipes aren’t the greatest

While some of the diet and lifestyle suggestions in this book are a little extreme, it is very empowering to learn about the science of how our bodies work, and to be able to use that knowledge to develop more resilient bodies.
I read this book out of desperation because of recurring bouts of fatigue and burnout which are ruining my life. I'm not going to be following every piece of dietary advice in the book, because to follow them all would be very extreme, so I'll be taking the advice with a pinch of salt and reduce certain foods I consume in moderation.
