Controversial opinion: I enjoyed the second epilogue.

I don't know what I can add about this book that hasn't already been said. I guess I would say this book definitely deserves its place in the classics (not that anyone is disputing that), but the second epilogue was actually so boring and repetitive i did want to kill myself a little.

War and Peace was such a pleasant surprise to me, as it was not what I expected. I would have never thought that I would become so attached to the characters when there were so many of them, but I did. I loved the characters, I loved seeing them after the war, and I think I will miss reading this book. I have to admit, it’ll probably be strange not going to pick up War and Peace after doing it for the past two months!

I enjoyed it, perhaps more than I thought I would. Good characters, good writing, I could have done without the second epilogue dealing with historiography and free will, but the rest was enjoyable.

"They say: misfortunes and sufferings, yes, but if right now, right this minute they asked me: "Would you rather be what you were before you were taken prisoner, or fo through this all over again?" For God's sake let me again have captivity and horse flesh! We imagine that when we are thrown out of our familiar rut all is lost, but that is only when something new and good can begin. While there is life there is happiness. There is much, much before us. I say this to you."

This was life-changing.
