This book was funny. I had received the third book as an arc and so now I’m going back and reading the rest of the series. I love the humor in these books and I love the sisters.

I'm a big fan of paranormal and this author is very quickly becoming one of my new favorites this year.
One special woman sent to marry a man that she can't even touch. Lucia has a gift, she is Embraced. He comes for her and drops a bombshell: she must marry the man that everyone refers to as a beast or lose her magic and her father. Lucia is so sweet and loyal and innocent that of course she agrees.
Leo finds that she is not the selfish girl that he was told to expect. Leo is also Embraced... he can't touch others because his power draws lightning. Leo and Lucia go in circles around each other with the attraction they have but can't act on because of his gift.
I kept turning the pages on this one... dying to know what was going to happen next and when all the secrets would come out. This was such a good story and I'm so impatient for the next book in this series! How to Tame the Beast in Seven Days was a solid 5 stars for me.

One of my best book friends absolutely loves this somewhat new series of Kerrelyn Sparks, so I’ve been meaning to try it out for awhile and just decided that I should do it now. And I’m so glad that I did because How to Tame the Beast in Seven Days was beyond excellent! I know why my friend is so crazy about it and I can tell you right now that I’m sure I will be just as crazy about it too as I loved this first book so much!
I loved both Leo and Luciana a lot, but I think I loved Luciana just a little bit more, so I’ll talk about Leo first. Leo might be known as the Beast of Benwick, but there is much more to him than meets the eye. He’s a good, kind, honorable man and it’s impossible not to fall in love with him. Leo’s so sweet, but he’s also a strong warrior and a boss — he’s just wonderful.
It was just as impossible not to love Luciana as it was not to love Leo. Luciana has a heart of gold and is full of light, warmth, and sweetness. She is also strong, capable, and intelligent. Luciana might be very sweet, but she’s not afraid to stand up to Leo or anyone else. She’s an amazing heroine and I completely adored her!
Paranormal has always been my favorite genre, it’s full of endless possibilities and worlds and so much more. How to Tame the Beast in Seven Days definitely falls into the unique category — it’s new and different and original. Its full of action, wonder, and magic. How to Tame the Beast in Seven Days is fascinating and exciting and I can’t wait for more to come!
How to Tame the Beast in Seven Days is the first book in the series, it’s told from Leo and Luciana’s POV, and they do get their happily-ever-after.

This is one tale as old as time that I wish wouldn't have ended. After winning a copy, but getting tired of waiting for it from the pub's snail mail, I bought it. And let me tell you, I was so engrossed in the story that I hated to put it down, unfortunately with it's length (Thank You, Ms. Sparks!) it had to be. I am surprised how much I actually fell in love with this against the odds love concept. It has such a different feel from her other series, but Ms. Sparks truly has done it again. The writing, the characters, the romance kept me spellbound that I am looking forward to taking a second trip to this otherworldly place.
A very very slow burn but the building tension was well done. Great plot. The ending was rushed and a bit deus ex machina. But otherwise great read!
Luciana grew up believing that she was alone in the world. She created a family with the other young women in the convent that became her home but any family was not something in her future. When a man shows up claiming to be her father suddenly her world begins to change. Luciana learns she's the only chance her father has to save his home and the people that he leads but can she not only pretend to be her sister but can she marry a man she's never met? Lord Leo has been leading the army and must follow the word of the king even if he knows the king is working behind his back to kill him. Family ties mean nothing to the king. When he orders Leo to wed Luciana he knows that he must protect her even from himself. I loved the introduction to a new world from Kerrelyn Sparks who always adds a lot humor to her stories. I'm excited to see where this series goes!
How to Tame a Beast in Seven Days is book one in The Embraced series by Kerrelyn Sparks.
A new series by a favorite author. I’ve enjoyed Ms. Sparks Love at Stake series and so I decided to jump into this new series The Embraced.
I wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into when I started reading. I didn’t know that it was Historical Fantasy along with Paranormal Romance and so when I started reading I was unsure about everything, but the more I read the more I ended up liking the world and characters. I have to say this new world is special and I wasn’t disappointed.
Since this is the first book we are introduced to a whole new world, new thinking, new species, religious oppression, the lengths people will go, and peculiar characters. At times the story felt a little slow, but things do pick up and we are taken on a fun adventure. The author had me laughing and falling in love with Luciana and Leo. They were remarkable together and perfect for each other in more ways then one. The EMBRACED aspect was extraordinary and I really liked all the secondary characters; especially the “sisters” introduced. I feel they will all make wonderful heroines someday.
How to Tame a Beast in Seven Days gives us a mixture of humor, seriousness, understanding, repression, and love. It was creative and a total delight to read.

This series kicks off with a bang, I was really looking forward to seeing the new direction that Kerrelyn Sparks was going in following and boy was I not disappointed.
This book focuses on Luciana who was raised as an orphan for 19 years, and realises everything she thought she knew wasn't right, finding out she was a twin and has a dad who needs her help to save his people. Luciana also has a secret that she can see ghosts a power that marks her one the embraced and would lead to her death if the wrong people found out..
Then We have Leo an embraced who doesn't have to hide who he is because his power involves lightning and to cross him is to face death.
They have been matched to marry each other, but both will have to overcome fears and obstacles to find out if they are to be together.
Luciana and Leo have great personalities and you cant help but want them to succeed, there is also some excellent secondary characters, great writing and a fantastic world and I cannot wait to read what happens next.

Beauty and the Beast move over. How to Tame a Beast in Seven Days is the first in a new romantic paranormal fantasy world. There is something for everyone; magic, love, angst, ghosts, elves, good guys and bad, intrigue and murder. Kerrelyn Sparks has created a wonderful world where women are strong, good guys win and love trumps hate. I fell into this book and couldn’t get out till the very last page. I am so looking forward to my next trip into this exciting world.

Despite the clickbait-y cover and title, this was a fairly straight fantasy romance. It’s a well developed world with interesting characters. I felt like there were a couple of dropped plot points, but I’m not totally sure those won’t be picked up in the sequels.
