I’ve had this series on my bookshelf for probably over 12 years. It was about time I started reading it. And I’ll admit, I liked it! It’s a fun YA story that’s like the districts of The Hunger Games (not the actual games, just the districts and wealth levels) meets The Bachelor. A prince has to choose between 35 contestants for the crown. A very fun and quick read.
I loved this read it in one day. Though I've been spoiled, kind of, on the next 2 book. Should I read them?

A fun, silly read. Teenage me would have been obsessed with this love story. I really enjoyed reading it and will read the others, but rated it a 3.75 because it’s not a very meaty story. The characters are a little trope-y and homogenous. Basically this book is Hunger Games minus killing each other, plus the Bachelor. Still, a pleasant way to spend some hours.

Kitabın çok sıradışı bir kast sistemi yoktu, halkın düzenini, kurulmuş olan distopik dünyayı başarılı buldum. Kitap güzeldi, çok sevdim, okurken çok eğlendim. America'yı anlatıcı olarak da sevdim ama en çok abla olarak sevdim sanırım. Davranışlarında gördüğüm o ablasal tavrı taktir ettim çünkü kendi ablam da öyle ve çok seviyorum ehe *-* karakter olaraksa America konusunda nötrüm sanırım. Hep duyguları ile hareket etti, azıcık sinirimi bozdu ama diğer yandan okuması zevkli bir karakterdi. America'nın babası çok içten bu arada *-* Aspen... Ne bileyim gereksiz keşke olmasan, güzel kitapta bir aşk üçgeni olmasa... Ve Maxon. Çok çok çok sevimli bir karakter ya ba-yıl-dım. Şöyle yorganlara sarıp bir köşede sevip beslemek istedim. Serinin kalanından umudum büyük.

Well, I didn't intend to, but I just read this one cover to cover in one sitting 🙃 now I'm tired but it was worth it...a fun story with some good drama. Looking forward to book 2.
Just a little addition: the girls' names in this book are SO BAD. The guys get these cool names like Maxon and Aspen...and the girls get stuck with nonsense names. 😂

3.5 stars. When I first came across this book, I was told that it was like the Hunger Games meets The Bachelor. I was disappointed to find out that these girls weren't actually murdering each other to get to the prince. While this was a fun read, it did feel was very similar to other chick lit books. Bridesmaid lotto to be specific.
