This was definitely a strong start to a series that’s been on my TBR since 2013. While I had a lot of fun making jokes about some of the tropes that are very 2010s dystopian/YA I really enjoyed this throwback to the love triangle/chose me era. 

This was a fun story and I think my main complaint is that the main character spends a lot of time complaining about how unfair the contest that she signed up for is, complaining about the prince that she agreed to date is actually trying to date her. 

It took me a while to get attached to either of the love interests. Maxon is oblivious to the struggle of his people, socially awkward around the girls, and dismissive of legitimate concerns people are raising with him. 

Aspen is whiny, immature, controlling, and a little too misogynistic for my taste. 

I also have issues with America who will do anything for her family but spends the first several chapters telling Aspen to stop working for his. 

The characters definitely grew on me the longer I read but I kept getting pulled out of the story by these character flaws that seemed out of character based on their actions for the rest of the book. 

All in all I enjoyed the book and I’m hoping the sequels help me fall for the characters more.

Wow! I loved this book. It was nothing like I had expected. After reading the description and watching the video promo I was not convinced it was something I would enjoy. Boy was I wrong! I devoured it in less than 2 days. I can't wait to read the rest and to meet Kiera Cass in May!

PERO QUE ACABO DE LEER

vale este a sido probablemente el mejor libro que he leído en este 2022. estoy sin palabras de verdad, no se que decir AJSJAASJSA. este libro a sido una montaña rusa llena de emociones y mucha adicción. no podía dejar de leerlo (cosa que me arrepiento de haber tardado literalmente 10 días en leerlo :(( )

espero comprarme lo mas pronto posible la segunda parte AAAAAAAA
