I like the 355 origin story and I also like the new character. I am curious to see if/how the world reacts to finding out about a last man being alive.

This story continues to have lots of interesting turns and I'm very curious how it will end.

still enjoying this series although this vol. jumped around a fair bit and at times I felt like I had skipped a page and I had to go back to figure out where I was.

This volume is full of odds and ends, tying up a few loose ends, giving some back story and setting up the action to come. I can't wait to get my hands on the next volume.

And here I went again, thinking this book was going to finish without gratuitous female nudity, but then, alas, two pages from the end, a ninja is doing yoga naked. Wouldn't a ninja want to be clothed and prepared at all times in case of attack? Does the author assume their work is not good enough to sustain a male audience without adding this in? For a book about women surviving the apocalypse, there's quite a lot of tasteless nudity. Although for the sake of fairness there was frontal male nudity for the first time in 7 books... But obviously that wouldn't be put in for no reason like all the female times. It has a purpose to the plot.

In this volume in the chronicle of the last man on earth, Yorick and the gang are in Australia for a day so Yorick and 355 go looking for Beth. We also get Hero and the other Beth, who is now pregnant, plus origin stories for 355 and Ampersand.
Aside from some intriguing things in Ampersand's origin, there wasn't a lot of forward momentum in this apart from some character moments. With three volumes left, I feel like the retro rockets are firing a bit. Still, it's great shit and I can see why young pre-Goodreads me enjoyed it so much back in the day.

A lull in the action, kind of felt like spinning wheels, places we had been before. Art was great, as usual.

I love this exploration of gender, gendercide, and what-ifs. The illustrations style is occasionally a little too pretty (everyone's so freaking hot!), but overall I love it. :)
