Although a classic english book and english not being my first language, I enjoyed reading it very much. It even contains quotes which I'll keep forever. Certainly a new favorite of mine.

Love Anne and Gilbert - I wanted the netflix show before reading and I think the show does the book so well.

To this day I still can't believe I read such a long book like this one and without falling asleep at the age I did: 10 I think. I mean the first sentence in the book is about 10 lines long!!! But I did give it four stars and there's a reason for that: it was funny. Yeah, that's right, funny. I mean, there's this Canadian red-headed orphaned girl named Anne who can't stop talking. She is accidentally placed in the care of theses old country siblings who find her very strange. As the book progresses Anne encounters and goes through much trouble such as accidentally dying her hair green but by the end of the book Anne is a much more mature young woman and goes off to school or something( don't really remember, it's been awhile). This book was pretty good especially since something unexpected happened at the end which I won't tell you about. And even if you're not really into theses kind of books, give it a try anyway.

Second time reading this/audiobooking this. Listened to this for bookclub.

Anne’s monologues were at time way too long for my liking (but I get that talking too much/saying every thought in her head is a big part of her character). Perfect otherwise. Very wholesome.
Love when Anne says things like “I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers”.
The characters are very fun to read about and although flawed, are lovable. Marilla’s quiet and solitary reflections on her growing affection and LOVE for Anne killed meeee.

Also does Matthew really start every single sentence with “Well now…”????
