Why didn’t I read this book sooner?! One of my favorite books ever

Steamy & entertaining read. Was very hooked on book from page 150-350 but felt pretty long. Enjoyed it and felt like a movie but some things were like ugh come onnnn, typical outcome.
fast-paced

Naomi is a runaway bride who has driven through the night to a text for help from her deadbeat sister.  When she arrives her sister steals her car, goes through her motel room and steals anything of value and leaves her 11 year old daughter behind.  Naomi didn’t even know that Waylay existed but immediately stepped to up look after her.  Knox thought that Naomi was her twin Tina who had been causing trouble in the town all year.  When he realises his mistake he begrudgingly helps her out and gets her set up.  They work together to get waylays life back on track and provide some stability.  But when signs of Tina start creeping back in, everyone’s safety is called into question.

This book had PLOT! The last few romances I’ve met I’ve been able to describe in a couple of sentences ‘they meet and fall for each other, the end’.  But this had a really good and gritty plot.  The only reason it’s not scored higher is the whole ‘you need to start looking after you, not everyone else’ point was was way too laboured and when it actually started getting dark the language felt super stilted/not appropriate for the situation.

Such a cute book!
I’ve started the book and the first 150 pages were a bit long bcs it’s a slowburn and that not my fave. But let me tell you: IT WAS WORTH IT!
I’ve loved the tension between the main characters and was sooo into the story.
Another thing I liked was that the focus wasn’t only on the love story but also on a “crime” that ways happening at the same time.
Tropes:
• enemies to lovers
• evil twin sister
• found family
I’m sooo excited to read the stories of Lucian and Nash, mainly because of the snippets you got to see from this book.
Love love love!
Definitely recommend

Easy read, but god how many times do we have to talk abt the MC and her lack of a back bone? It felt like she needed everyone to explain her trauma every second sentence. Also they were way too old to be acting that way like damn yous are in your 40s

Run away from life to a small town only to find out you have a secret niece from your missing sister.
