Read this with the class as a reading activity for the term. A fabulous book I have always wanted to read since finishing the other Dahl books. Like all the others, it disappointed me not a bit.

Wat schrijft hij smakelijk en je herkent in zijn jeugdavonturen al het begin van sommige van de epische verhalen en karakters die hij later zal bedenken. Heb hardop gelachen, maar me ook geërgerd aan de Britse witte-man voor wie de wereld vanzelfsprekend aan zijn voeten ligt. Een wereld waarin alle vrouwen behalve zijn moeder heksen zijn en Afrika een spannende jungle zonder beschaving is.
