Getting Lucky is a collaboration by six wonderful storytellers that explores the concept of luck. Some people seem to have a lucky streak, while others seem to have missed out completely. But is that really what happens? Is it fate based, or do we play a part in being lucky? We follow as each story delves into the concept- whether it be finding love, surviving heartache and loss, or defying the odds- is luck a fixed thing, or can we make our own luck?
The stories are:

Just My Luck By: Codi Gary

Layla Tyler is a walking disaster, she’s so accident prone that she truly believes she’s unlucky. She’s just had a day from hell, one of many, but this one had been extra hellish. Things couldn’t get worse, surely? But when she is saved from a near death experience by a handsome man, her luck begins to change. Will he be the change she desperately needs?
This is a cute, sweet story- with funny banter and just enough drama to keep things interesting. A fun read.

With a Little Luck By: Cassandra Jones

Dawson finds himself on the run with beautiful stranger after witnessing his best friend’s murder. But with danger hot on their heels they will need to keep their wits and work together if they are to survive.
This story has action, danger, murder, suspense, murder, guilt, secrets, fear, drama, and a game of cat and mouse with some seriously dangerous criminals.
I really enjoyed this story, but I wish it was a full length novel so the story, details and backstories could have been expanded and explored in greater depth. It read well, but did seem a little rushed in places. Looking forward to more from Ms. Jones.

The Unluckiest Girl By: C.M Lehsten

Maisey was dealt a heavy burden, being born with Cerebral Palsy and Scoliosis nothing has ever come easy. But she has never let her disability hold her back, facing life head on with optimism, determination and courage. So, what happens when she’s hit by a car, shattering her pelvis, and ultimately threatening her ability to walk in the future. Will she succumb to her plight, or attack her situation with all the courage and determination she can muster? Is luck simply mind over matter?
This was such a great little story. I really loved Maisey and her bright, optimistic attitude. I was cheering her on the whole way!
A sweet, positive, and inspiring story of overcoming the odds and creating your own luck with spirit and determination! Love!!!

Fairy Lucky By: Olivia London

Eilis Cuinn’s father arranges her marriage to a prominent family. But her older sister is not happy for her at all. Jealousy causes her to betray Eilis- who later wakes up with no memory of her former life. She discovers a world she never knew existed, with a fairy she soon develops feelings for. But what happens when she begins to regain her memory? Will she choose to take back her former life, or stay with the fairy who holds her heart?
This story has so much going on in it, in a good way. It is ultimately a paranormal romance, but has history, magic, fairies, mystery, hidden agendas, myths, superstitions, lies, and wonderful world building.
This is a story that I would love to read as a full length novel- to really get to explore the world and characters Ms. London created. I would love to read more of Eilis and Dorin’s story in the future!

What is Luck? By: K.R Reese

Ian Daniels left his hometown when he enlisted in the military 10 years ago and he hadn’t returned, till now. Ian is back for his best friend’s wedding- but what he isn’t expecting is to find his high school sweetheart is the matron of honor. The past comes flooding back- feelings long buried begin to surface. Seeing he only has a week off, will they rekindle what they once had- or has too much time and pain made that impossible?
This is a sweet second chances story that had me rooting for Ian and Gabriella the whole way through. A well woven story with interesting characters and a story that made me want to find out how everything plays out in the end.

Lucky Bid By: K. Ries

Sage Warren attends her friend’s charity auction because she believes in the cause- not to bid on the hottest and most eligible bachelor in the city. But bid she does, and is surprised when she wins. This is where the story gets interesting, and you really should read all the intriguing details for yourself- because Ms. Ries, has woven a wonderful tale of opposites attracting, and finding ‘luck’ in unexpected places.
So, now I find myself with a little Hudson and Sage addiction…. And I need a FIX stat!!! Ms. Ries loves to torture me- sucking me into her stories and tantalizing me with possibilities. I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY hope we will be getting more of Hudson and Sages story very SOON!!! I NEED to know what happens next!!! Hint, Hint Ms. Ries!!!
