Hidden Bodies is the sequel to You by Caroline Kepnes. The novel follows Joe Goldberg, a serial killer, who attempts to hide his past in order to live a happy life with the girl he loves.
This book is dark and honestly a bit terrifying. It makes you wonder how far the people in your life would go to stay there. This book is complicated because one usually roots for the main character in a story, but Joe is no hero. He is a murderous manipulator, but one finds themself seeing the other characters as villainous through his eyes. The ending definitely left me wanting more so I am eager to read Kepnes' new book.

I enjoyed the first book in this series and loved the Netflix series even more. All I knew going into this sequel was that the Netflix show seemed to take a different direction and did not follow this book closely for Season 2. So, I wasn't sure what to expect and I wasn't sure why they didn't follow the book. About a 100 pages into this book it became evident. I think Joe Goldberg is such a fascinating character and that's the only reason I gave this an extra 0.5 star. This book is messy. It's all over the place. The boring and useless parts dragged yet the parts where there was actual action and intrigue were way too fast-paced. Just watch the show instead.
