No great surprise but good

Not very original but it kept me interested. A good love triangle, marriage and infidelity story. A lot of descriptive lovemaking.

What can I say? Even better the second time around. I didn’t remember anything so it was very much like a first time read. Dickey’s writing is so timeless and you feel each emotion the characters bring to the table. This is a story about hurt people and I am just speechless. I am a sucker for a strong plot and a character driven novel and I definitely believe this is about to be in my top 3 of the year. Easy… Hands down… I may be a little biased because he puts me in a chokehold every single time he mentions Alabama in any aspect.

Full disclaimer *** This is my first book by EJD

WOW! This was a great read. Both gripping and detailed, this story had me on edge from the beginning until the end. EJD's writing style is beautiful.

This felt like a love letter to LA (in a twisted kind of way). As a LA native, I was taken on a journey with the characters, and I followed them throughout the story.

I went into this story blindly, really only understanding the plot based on the title of the book. Immediately, we understand the complications of adultery, revenge, and the hurt that comes with betrayal. In most scenarios, the plot would  feel cliche and redundant, but this story was told so well that I side stepped all my feelings about the typical "betrayal" plot.

I am looking forward to reading more from this author, and I am little flustered that I haven't checked his work out sooner.

Generic cheating story. Full of stereotypes. I did like the dynamic between the main character and Yvette.

This was actually an unintentional re-read, I wasn't aware until I finished reading chapter one that I'd already read this book, and once I'd finished chapter one I was past the point of no return. Eric Jerome Dickey has a way of doing that to me. I loved this book, it delves deep into the dark side of infidelity.

I haven’t been a fan of EJD since the 90s, but I decided to give this a chance because someone I admire kept suggesting it.....so here we go!
.
This was really good to me. I don’t know if it’s because I’m going above and beyond reading into certain situations and behaviors, but that Freckles was something else and I do not for one second believe she is as innocent as she wants us all to believe.

Loved the book from beginning to end. I did not expect the book to end the way it did! Worth reading!
