Eingentlich fand ichs gamz gut.
It's entirely possible that I built this book up in my head, only for it to fall flat of expectations but The Gilded Wolves had a special place in my heart. The narrators, characters, and plot were all exactly what I needed, and in Gilded Age Paris no less! The Silvered Serpents, unfortunately, did not live up to the hype I assigned it.
I still adored the characters and their continual development and exploration. Zofia in particular was given a chance to shine, and her (I'm assuming) asexuality to be discussed which I really appreciated. Hypnos is a continual favorite for me, and the new characters were quite fun as well. I was still engrossed in the narration. But the plot simply didn't ever draw me in. The pacing was like spring skiing (quick then sticky) and the stakes, even when lethal, never felt particularly urgent.
This all being said, the ending was a shock, the stage is set, and I'm still really looking forward to the conclusion of this epic heist *ahem, acquisition* trilogy.

Sometimes I think I give my 5 stars review too easily but well, wow, this book??
The Silvered Serpents is the sequel of The Gilded Wolves, the second book of the trilogy. The story continuing the first book past Tristan death which lead Severin to a new goal, he wanted to be the god himself, he craving for the immortal's power so he won't feel powerless as he was when he witnessed Tristan's death.
Severin, Laila, Enrique, Zofia, and —thankfully— Hypnos, tried to search this item called The Divine Lyrics. The item that been wanted by the Fallen House to receiving the God's power, as well as what Severin wanted, but for Laila, The Divine Lyrics is the book she'd been searching for.
This book showing the bond of friendship between Laila, Enrique, and Zofia, somehow Severin and Hypnos too. We can see how they with their own mind thinking how to protect each others.
Hypnos, oh what do I say about Hypnos, love of my life. I love him so much but sometimes he's being too useless, he's being stupid, scaredy-cat, not doing much, still I love him so much. I kinda feel he kinda feel bit different with The Gilded Wolves' Hypnos, where he kinda giving the aura of villain. Where's that Hypnos now?? No matter what, Hypnos is still my favorite and I demand his backstory!!! Anyway I always feel grateful everytime Severin, Laila, Enrique, and Zofia still thinking about him, slowly accepting him as friends, or maybe more.
The endingggg OH MY GODS. THIS BOOK GOT ME SCREAMING ESP FOR LIKE THE LAST 100PAGES??? Perfection. I need book three now.

I enjoyed the overall reading experience, but I’m still a bit conflicted on this series. It could be so amazing with a few tweaks! I love the characters and their banter. That and the atmospheric settings are where Chokshi’s writing shines. But the overall plotting is often confusing and a bit lacking in my opinion. It felt like there were scenes just totally missing? Like they were talking about traveling to Russia and suddenly they were there? And some of the character motivations were feeling less real. I’ll probably still pick up the third book to complete the trilogy though!
