A wonderful addition to the Gilded Wolves- I can’t wait to see what happens next. I listened to this book, and it was do amazingly performed. Séverin continues to spiral into a madness from the loss of his brother, while all the other team members continue to develop as characters.
This book is like Indiana Jones meets six of crows.
I saw the twist happening but a little too late, so I was pleasantly surprised.

The found family trope is strong in this wintry installment of The Gilded Wolves trilogy. The multiple POV narration deepened my love for these characters because we get such a depth of understanding for who they are and their motivations. Their love for each other brought me to tears several times.
This novel is well-plotted and the magic system is fleshed out so well. I am amazed at Chokshi’s talent for weaving such an intricate plot whilst keeping us engaged with the character development. The DaVinci Code-like treasure hunting/code breaking vibe coupled with the beautiful prose, reference to myths, legends, and folklore kept me at the edge of my seat the whole time. I thoroughly enjoyed this and am already on to the next. The novels flow seamlessly into one another.
I am still shocked as to why no one else is talking about these books! LOVE!

A copy of this book was kindly provided by Raincoast Books in exchange for an honest review.
Myself and many others have been awaiting the sequel to The Gilded Wolves for a little bit longer than usual. But it’s finally here and I’m so happy to have been able to read it! I really like where the story took the characters in The Silvered Serpents.
As is the case with the other books by Chokshi that I’ve read, the plot and small details were very nicely planned out and developed–I had to pause here and there because I was just in awe at the amount of detail (especially regarding the mythology that permeates this book series). I also enjoyed the way that the characters were portrayed and how they developed.
Everything was just so...

5 stars!
This book stomped on my heart so SO HARD! Honestly the third book cannot come out soon enough!
This was absolutely how a sequel should be made. It was full of angst, incredible twists and an interesting story line.
This series is incredible and I can’t wait for the third book!

I won a copy of this book through Goodreads Giveaways. Honestly, I've been pretty disappointed by this series. This one is marginally better than the first one, but I think only because I feel like I actually have some sense of the characters and the world now.
I know The Gilded Wolves got so many great reviews, but I constantly felt as I was reading it that I was coming in in the middle of the story. The book kept referencing previous events that the characters went through together, and I felt like I would have liked to read a book about how these characters came together first, before reading this one. The Silvered Serpents continued to have this same issue, though it wasn't as bad because at least there had already been one book before this to introduce the reader to the characters. I also didn't really feel like I connected with any of the characters enough to care about them as deeply as I would like. I think part of the reason for this is actually that the author was trying to do too many points of view and not doing them particularly well, and unless you can do multiple perspectives really well, I think overall you are better off doing one point of view and then the readers can get to know other characters through that one main point of view. While there were some glimmers of brilliance in The Silvered Serpents, I still was basically left with the feeling that something major was missing. I'm honestly not sure I'm left caring enough to even want to find out what happens next, which is pretty disappointing.
I appreciate having the opportunity to read and review this book, though!

Thank you to NetGalley and Wednesday Books for this eARC of The Silvered Serpents in exchange for an honest review.
I've been sitting on reading The Silvered Serpents for a while now. According to NetGalley, I downloaded my copy in August of last year. I honestly had every intention of reading it right away. I loved The Gilded Wolves and the ending had me desperate to find out what happened to these beloved characters next. However, when the release date for Silvered Serpents was pushed back I didn't want to read it too early and forget everything by the time the final installment comes out. Then suddenly it was a month before it was due to release so I had to get reading!
I had just as much fun reading this book as I did the first! In this book, we trade out the heist novel of The Gilded Wolves for a gripping treasure hunt where the cost of failure could be Laila's very life! One of my favorite parts of Chokshi's writing is how unbelievably beautiful she makes everything. Everything is always described in such haunting detail that I can place myself in a scene easily. Her imagination creates the most intriguing settings and every time we enter a new one I lose my breath all over again. I still love the magic system of Forging and I loved that we got to see some more types of Forging in this installment.
I don't want to get too into the plot details of this book for spoilers but I felt like we got some good development for our main characters (though some of them were incredibly frustrating the whole book!) I also loved uncovering some secrets and learning the answers to a few of the questions I've had since the first book. There were a few not quite twists but reveals that felt like they were supposed to be more shocking than they actually were but the clues for them were quite obvious from the get-go. That said I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read the final installment!
