As advertised this is a fast paced thriller. If you have seen the show then the plots not a mystery. However this does not detract from the joy of reading.
Reacher is an old school leading man. Big, intelligent and capable of violence as much as tenderness.
Looking forward to reading more.

Pretty solid dick-lit read. The writing style threw me off at the start. Very choppy and often static. Because Jack Reacher is a badass. Cool. Calm. Collected. Analyses the situation. No time for panic. Just observe, assess, and act. Short sentences. Badass ex-military man. Takes no shit. Fucks shit up. Badass.
Eventually Lee Child lengthens the sentences a bit and it settles into more of a rhythm.
Pretty engaging plot with the revenge twist, but the final kills of the 2 big bad guys are disappointing.
I'll probably check out more in the series, but won't be rushing out to buy them.

I love to throw in a Jack Reacher book here and there during reading slumps. The sharp, blunt writing style is a welcome break for my mind! No difficult words or concepts, just the facts crisp and clear. I decided to read the books in publication order, so I started with this one. This first installment is a dark, brutal thriller/mystery. Definitely check content warnings before you read!
Graphic: Physical abuse, Medical content, Murder, Blood, Death, Gun violence, Gore, Kidnapping, Violence, and Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Sexual harassment, Child abuse, Hate crime, Racism, Car accident, Racial slurs, Sexual content, Fire/Fire injury, Stalking, and Torture
Minor: Rape and Sexual assault

Jack Reacher got off the bus in the wrong place and wandered head-first into a malestrom of corruption and greed. Little did he know he would become entwined in a mystery that would require him to use all the skills he acquired in the military. The Killing Floor is gripping. Readers won't be able to put the book down as the follow Jack's efforts to solve the mystery of Margrave, Georgia. I highly recommend The Killing Floor to anyone who is looking for an enthralling, entertaining read.
