I really enjoyed this book!
This book is a magical realism thriller romance. Reading this book was like the equivalent of sitting in the quiet and you hear a scratching noise and you’re like, what was that? It was eerie but in a good way if that makes sense.
Sayers always writes with deeper meanings, like fighting your demons and not giving in to them, looking at them and saying, NO. You control how much they win. It’s a story full of sorrow with hope and finding your way home.
I found Gemma to be relatable. The decisions she made seemed like ones I would make, her feelings like how I would feel. She listened to people, weighed their words, and made an informed decision. Something people don’t do often these days.
Christopher. Oh poor Christopher! The things that happened to him were horrible but he kept fighting anyways.
