I feel like I've both heard about this book too often and experienced it too late in life to enjoy it properly. I'm also usually made uncomfortable by situations of someone messing up being played for humor, even if said person is unaware and not to bothered by it.

A solid book, but not really to my taste.

A sweet and very cute read! The chapters read more like a continuous stream of little short stories chronicling Paddington's zany adventures, which is delightful. A very appropriate, fun, and gentle book for young children just beginning chapter books, and also a wonderful read-aloud book for families.
Fair warning though: do NOT expect it to be like the movie. There are several of the same characters, a few with personalities very similar to the personalities they have in the movie, but the plot and scenarios Paddington finds himself in are almost entirely different.

Overall, a sweet, quick little read with stories that will make you smile. Thank you, Michael Bond, for pioneering such a classic.
