This book was so good that I was disappointed I finished it because I never wanted it to end.

I loved reading about a female athlete.

Loved it!

Another awesome hockey romance from Toni Aleo! Jayden is the ultimate book boyfriend— totally swoon worthy!! On the other hand, Baylor definitely redefines strong female!! She impressed me, and I understood her, but I still wanted to shake her at times! Lol I always enjoy their dynamic, when I reread this series!

I hate to cry. It takes a lot to make my eyes glisten. Toni Aleo has the power to bring on the water works. If you read Book one, you know some of Jayden's history. How many can identify with his story-cheating father, devastated mother. Toni sucked me in with her portrayal of the protective, supportive son. She kept me interested with family dynamics, respect for women, concern for his hockey team, and unconditional love. Baylor's life's is completely different. She is the forced introvert, social dysfunctional, awesome with a hockey stick in a world of men. Everyday is a fight for survival, mentally and physically. Her main influence, her dad, ex-hockey professional, biggest supporter, and coach. A planned one night stand between Baylor and Jayden left them both dissatisfied and confused. But what does it matter?--one night stand. Baylor freaks when she discovers that she will soon be on his team. Jayden freaks when she appears. The captain him won't let her fail. The man in him want to finish what the started. The player in her can't afford distraction. The daughter in her won't disappoint. Jayden is a distraction that could destroy her future. The journey to true love is filled with strong emotions, many challenges, denial, and jealousy. There were times, I had to wonder if they would survive, if the would find away to succeed without destroying each other.

Shannon's Thoughts

Toni Aleo has outdone herself with CLIPPED BY LOVE.  I didn't think any character could ever surpass Shea Adler, but Jayden Sinclair did exactly that.

The second book in the Bellevue Bullies series focuses on middle Sinclair brother Jayden, as he focuses on his final year of college hockey.  He's determined to be the team's captain, the lead them through to the NCAA championship and to enter high in the NHL draft.  It's ambitious, but Jayden is determined to prove that he deserves to be in the NHL and to make sure his mother is taken care.  What Jayden didn't plan on is Baylor Moore.

Baylor is a woman with quite a few chips on her shoulder.  She's the only female hockey player in the men's collegiate league.  She's good enough, to the point she's better than most of the men she plays against, but she pays the price forcing her to develop a skin that is so tough it's almost impenetrable.  Then there's her belief that the only person that will ever love her is her dad.  The belief is so strong that she erects a wall around her so that no one can ever get close.  But when she gets to Bellevue, where her father is the new head coach, she discovers what is means to open herself up to friendship and to love.

I loved Baylor and Jayden.  They reminded me of a younger Ellie and Shea.  Jayden was open to a relationship with Baylor and would do just about anything to be with her, including hiding their relationship.  But he was good for Baylor.  He taught her how to open up, how to love and how to trust people with her heart.  Baylor didn't always have faith in herself or her relationship with Jayden, but he did.  He'd fight for her, even when he was so pissed at her he couldn't be with her.  He knew, she was it.

Baylor was harder to warm up to, just because Toni Aleo did an awesome job of making the wall Baylor built around herself almost visible to readers.  But as Jayden chipped away at Baylor, it became easier and easier to like her.  When she resorted to her old self, as a reader I understood why and didn't hold it against her.  In the end, I was pulling for her to step outside her comfort zone and go after what her heart wanted.

In my opinion, this is the best book Toni Aleo's written.  It has all the elements that make it a Toni Aleo book, but an added emotional element to these characters that made me fall hard for them.  I can't wait to see what Toni has coming next for this series.

This is a fantastic story, I loved Jude and Claire's story so much, and had been eagerly awaiting this book. Although to be honest I wasn't expecting to Love it more, but I do! Jayden is now my favourite Sinclair brother! The entire story had me hooked, it had some real laugh out loud moments mainly involving Jayden's brother Jace but was also hot and sweet. It was also really great to read about other characters including Elli and Shea, who are real favourites of mine. I now can't wait to read more from both the Assassin's and Bellvue Bullies series when those books are released later this year.

I wished I had listen to these in the order they were written. Because I finished the Assassin series then I started this one and I feel like I just knew them already and I wasn’t really interested in going back in time.

I understand that these are side players and their stories are not in the NHL yet but I am just sad I didn’t listen before they were if that makes any sense at all.

Because I didn’t really like their story until 3/4th the way through, I almost stopped listening because I was just not into it.

I am glad overall that I finished because it did give context to the later stories. And the first girl in the NHL awesome.

So this review is really more about me than the story.

I enjoyed the narration soooo much!!
